Best For: Grades K–12

Description: In this hands-on, high-energy workshop, students step into the role of real scientists to investigate the invisible world of microorganisms. Through guided questioning, interactive demonstrations, and live experiments, students explore what bacteria are, where they live, and how hygiene impacts health.  Students form hypotheses, participate in swabbing and plating demonstrations, and analyze results over time—learning how scientists grow and observe microorganisms safely. This module reinforces curiosity, laboratory safety, and public health awareness while making science exciting and approachable.

Key Outcomes:

  • Understand that microorganisms are real but invisible to the naked eye
  •  Learn basic scientific method concepts (hypothesis, experiment, results)
  • Connect hygiene to health and disease prevention
  • Build confidence as young scientists

🐾 Module 2: Animal Science & Human Health – STEM in the Living World (COMING SOON)

 Duration: 45-60 minutes

Best For: Grades K-12

Description: This engaging module explores how animals contribute to science, medicine, and public health. Students learn how veterinary science, zoonotic diseases, and biological research connect animals to human health. Through interactive discussions, problem-solving activities, and real-

  Duration: 45 minutes

Best For: Grades 7–12 & College

Description: This inspiring and honest career-focused session introduces students to the world of molecular diagnostics, biotechnology, and laboratory automation. Valerie shares her personal journey—from struggling student to global molecular diagnostics professional—while breaking down how real laboratories test for respiratory infections, gastrointestinal pathogens, and other diseases.  Students explore how robotics, automation, and biotechnology work behind the scenes to protect public health. The session includes interactive discussion, myth-busting about STEM careers, and practical next steps for students interested in science—even if they don’t consider themselves “top students.”

Key Outcomes:

  • Understand what molecular diagnostics is and why it matters
  • Learn about career pathways beyond traditional doctor/scientist roles
  • Gain confidence regardless of academic background
  •  Identify actionable next steps toward STEM careers
